About Borgo di Vagli

Located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, Borgo di Vagli is a quaint, meticulously restored 14th century hamlet surrounded by a protected area of olive groves, fruit trees and ancient oaks. From the terraces, you can enjoy panoramic views of the breathtaking Tuscan hills, including a spectacular view of the 10th century Pierle castle.

 

Borgo di Vagli is the result of a ten-year restoration project conceived and executed by renowned restoration engineer Fulvio Di Rosa, Fulvio's efforts have allowed Borgo di Vagli to maintain much of its original feel, atmosphere, and charm, without compromising modern day comforts.

The area

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Protected Area surrounding Borgo di Vagli by exploring eight private circular walking and hiking paths, which vary in difficulty and distance. Just a short, scenic drive you will find Lake Trasimeno as well as two golf courses. 

 

Swimming Pool and Private Terraces - an inviting 66-foot (20-metre), outdoor swimming pool graces the Hamlet's top terrace, providing the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Escape to over 15 terraces that outlay the hillside. The numerous terraces are ideal for a relaxing afternoon with a good book, a nap in the sun, or a quiet conversation over a glass of locally produced wine.

 

The Trattoria - housed at the base of the 14th century guard tower is lit solely by candles. Here, lovers of Tuscany from around the world gather to share tales of their daily explorations and passion for Italian living over a freshly prepared traditional Tuscan meal paired with famous regional wines.

 

Culture, Arts, History and Cuisine - Borgo's office will book tickets for museums, concerts and festivals such as the world renowned Cortona Tuscan Sun Festival, Spoleto's Due mondi; Arts Festival and the Umbria Jazz Festival. They can also offer advice on local attractions and fiestas, as well as assisting you in arranging wine tours, directing you to local markets and fulfilling any special requests you may have.
